Linzi specializes in training and preparing women for the endurance event of labor and childbirth. She combines her training with practices that develop mindful body awareness to ready women for a strong, active, confident (and enjoyable!) childbirth experience. Linzi believes that all women should know, and be proud of what their bodies can do and that there’s no better time to fully experience your full physical potential than during pregnancy and through the powerful experience of childbirth. She has dedicated her practice to enabling women to build confidence through an awareness of their physical abilities, potential and achievements.
Linzi works with clients of all fitness levels — men and women - not just pre and post natal women. She offers superb overall conditioning classes that is geared towards everyone!
The changes I have made training with Linzi over the last 6 months have been beyond physical. I now feel a great connection between my mind and body. Before Linzi, I felt life just happened to me. My weight gain and my life were out of control, so I neglected physical exercise. Linzi has trained me to be mindful of what I eat and the energy I could gain from eating the right foods and getting the proper nutrients. I now always make time to exercise, it’s my “me” time. Even at the fittest times in my life before Linzi, I never thought I could be a runner, running even a mile seemed like a task. Now I am able to run a 5K and enjoy the rhythm of my breath and the sound of my feet hitting the pavement. It is empowering. I am now 16 weeks pregnant and I continue to train with Linzi. She is prepping me for the upcoming changes in my body and for the birth of my first child. Thank-you Linzi
My intentions and actions hadn’t aligned in the health and wellness area since I returned to work. I rarely took advantage of the gym one block from my office and once I got home, a glass of wine was much more appealing than suiting up for a run. I wanted to be fit for a second pregnancy and recognized that actually making it happen would require some additional support. Working with Linzi has been a major step on the right direction. She sets challenging, yet realistic goals. Adopting her philosophy of mindfulness, my posture has improved, I’m making better food choices, my much neglected core is getting stronger and my ability to better care of myself has trickled down through the family. The change in my behavior won’t be overnight, rather an ongoing work in progress. Linzi’s warmth, dedication to her clients and ability to relate as a mother makes her the perfect partner in my quest for wellness.
What sets Linzi apart from other personal trainers is her ability to connect on an emotional level with her clients. This isn’t just a job to her, it’s her passion and it’s apparent the first time you meet her. In fact “personal trainer” sounds too clinical to describe the services she provides when she’s so much more than that: she’s a friend, confidant and someone who is invested in your health and well being. I was lucky enough to begin training with Linzi several months before I became pregnant and what a godsend it was to have someone who was going to work with me throughout my first pregnancy (a scary and tenuous time for a lot of first time mothers). She is teaching me how to be aware of my changing body and is keeping me motivated to stay healthy not only for my baby but for myself as well. So often pregnant women only have access to prenatal yoga classes in their area — Linzi offers complete and safe light cardio and weight training exercises as well as mindful breathing techniques and stretching that will take you throughout your entire pregnancy. I would absolutely suggest her sessions to any mother-to-be as one of the best gifts they can give themselves. I have no doubt with her guidance that I will be more prepared physically and emotionally for the rigors of labor as well as have a more spiritual connection with my child and my body, during and post pregnancy.
Linzi has been such an inspiration, and is truly passionate about her work. She has motivated and encouraged me to make healthy “mindful” changes in both my eating and my exercise. I look forward to our sessions and I would certainly encourage anyone to make time for this. As a working mom, juggling children, job pressures, and trying to do it all well, taking care of myself and working with Linzi has been such a gift.
The changes Working with Linzi throughout my pregnancy has helped me stay fit, confident, and active. Every workout is fun and interesting, with a variety of challenging exercises and tips that help outside of the gym. I feel really lucky to have found her!
Linzi’s classes have been wonderful — dynamic, fun and challenging. The small size and personalized attention make it feel like a personal training session without the high cost. She does an excellent job offering alternatives for each exercise to allow the class to be adapted to many fitness levels and situations (ie. pregnant women). I highly recommend Linzi’s classes!
